1. General information
To enter into the philosophical problematic of the 19th century from key texts of German Idealism and later German philosophy . The objectives of this approach are an understanding of the ontological, ethical, anthropological and political problems of the previous Enlightenment heritage, thus linking the philosophical problematic with the social and cultural context of a 19th century marked by romanticism and the Sturm un Drang.

Introduction: The Enlightened Heritage
Block 1: Anthropological and epistemological problems
- The impact of science on philosophy
- From idealism to materialism (Feuerbach, Marx)
- From mechanicism to vitalism (Bergson, Nietzsche)
Block 2. Political and cultural problems
- Modern democracies (Constant, Tocqueville, Mill)
- The working class world: socialisms and anarchisms (Proudhon, Marx)
- The Birth of the Feminist Struggle (Taylor, Goldman)

5. Assessment system
First call:
Global assessment test on the date indicated: Research monograph (100%)
Criteria: original problem statement, research skills with primary sources, rigorous presentation, tutored follow-up of the project.
Second call: global assessment test identical to that of the previous one.
